Summer is always a great time in Northeastern Iowa, but August is an even better time to be in downtown Waterloo. Iowa's biggest celebration of Irish heritage and culture will be back in the city of Waterloo in just a few months.

Iowa Irish Fest is entering its 16th year of existence, and will take place during the very first weekend in August. August 5th through the 7th will see Irish bands from all over the world come to the Lincoln Park Area in Waterloo.

The event keeps getting bigger and bigger every year. While there are no specific details about the full schedule of the cultural festival, we do know that the weekend will be filled to the brim with Irish music and performances.

Last year, some festival goers could partake in some whiskey tasting classes along with some other cultural events.

Officials from Iowa Irish Fest announced their full lineup on St. Patrick's Day.

Some favorites will be returning for the 2022 festival. Screaming Orphans and Red Hot Chili Pipers are just a few of the major acts that will be coming to Waterloo come August.
