Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced Thursday that she has confidence in the new TestIowa program being unveiled at sites throughout the state. CBS2 reports that the governor says that test results will be accurate once the machines Iowa bought are set up and validated.

The CBS report states that Reynolds was asked about the machines after a report in the Salt Lake Tribune in Utah questioned their accuracy. CBS2 reports that a Utah company is contracting with the state of Utah and Iowa, which bought tests and equipment from the company for $26 million. The report says that the Co-Diagnostic tests may be turning up fewer positive test results than other coronavirus tests.

Company officials are denying that there is any discrepancy in the test results. The state of Utah is testing anyone who wants to be tested so that population would likely have fewer positive tests. Governor Reynolds says that the State Hygienic Lab in Iowa City has expertise in such testing.
