Hudson High School's Theater Department is taking their musical to the next level this year!

Hudson High School's Theater Department presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Oklahoma" as their 2020 spring musical. Directed by Casey Tecklenburg with assistant director Jen Bistline and choreographer Tiffany Kay, this musical is a Romeo and Juliet meets West Side Story set in the west at the turn of the 20th century.

For those who don't know the plot of this iconic musical, there is a rivalry between local farmers and cowboys of the area which lends itself to provide conflict for the love interests of Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, and their love story. With romance, drama, tension, comedy, huge folk dances and western style music, this show is sure to impress. The iconic Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Oklahoma"  originally directed by Rouben Mamoulian and choreographed by Agnes de Mille set the standard for modern musical theater.

Hudson High School's theater department has been working hard on this production for over 2 months and have been pushing the kids musical skills, acting skills and dance skills. There are 35 people involved in the cast, crew and pit of the show. This is going to be a show you don't want to miss!

The show opens Friday, March 27th and runs through Sunday, March 29th with shows starting at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday. The show will be held at the Hudson High School Auditorium with doors opening 30 minutes before the show. Tickets are $7 a piece and can be bought online at https://hudsonpiratepride.ludus.com/.
