A Thursday night game kicks off week three of the high school football season in eastern Iowa.

Cedar Rapids Jefferson travels to the Quad Cities to play a non-district game against Davenport Central. The J-Hawks (0-2) were shutout in their first two outings against Cedar Rapids Washington (79-0) and Iowa City High (68-0), while the Blue Devils (1-1) are coming off their first victory at Clinton (48-23) last week.

On Friday night, there is only one game that pits two rated teams against each other. That match-up features Monticello (2-0) hosting Beckman Catholic of Dyersville (2-0). The Braves are ranked No. 5 in Class 2A by the Associated Press, while the Trail Blazers are ranked at No. 8 in Class 1A.
