For one night at least, the talk of Caitlin Clark breaking the women's NCAA scoring record took a back seat, as it was one of her teammates who had a record-setting performance!

Another sold-out crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Thursday night came to see the Caitlin Clark show. What they got was a basketball game for the ages from Hannah Stuelke. The sophomore from Cedar Rapids went 17 of 20 from the floor and 13 of 21 from the free throw line, according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette. When she exited the game with 9 seconds remaining, Stuelke had scored 47 points, the most EVER by a female or male player at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Yes, Caitlin Clark got her shots off too. The soon-to-be scoring champ put up 27 points in the 111-93 win over Penn State. She is currently 38 points away from breaking Kelsey Plum's career scoring record, according to the Gazette. Iowa travels to Nebraska for a noon game on Sunday. If the record doesn't fall there, it will when Iowa hosts Michigan in Iowa City on February 15th.

Clark added 15 assists on the night, many of them to Stuelke who was streaking up and down the court all night. The Gazette reports that she blew away her previous career high at Iowa of 22 points. Stuelke once scored 44 points in a high school game when she played for Cedar Rapids Washington. Her 47 points fell one point short of the all-time women's record of 48 points set by Megan Gustafson at the 2018 Big Ten Tournament.

The Gazette reports that Caitlin Clark had some words for Stuelke at the end of last night's game. Clark told her, "I expect you to do this every game!" Imagine how dangerous this Iowa team could be if she did.
