Fatal Electrocution in Hazleton, and Deadly Accident Near Oxford
Authorities have not yet released the name of a man who was electrocuted while trimming a tree in Hazleton Wednesday morning (Sept. 15).
Emergency workers responded to a call at about 10:45am, to the 200 block of South Street "W" in Hazleton, where they found a man dead.
The Buchanan County Sheriff determined that the man was using a boom lift to cut down the tree, when he came into contact with an overhead power line.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will be released after his family is notified.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly 3 vehicle accident in Johnson County.
It happened just before noon Wednesday (Sept. 15) at the 233 mile marker of Interstate 80, south of Oxford.
A subcompact sports car, a 1969 M.G. convertible driven by Jimmie Danielson of Lincoln, Nebraska, was westbound when he made contact with a Ram pickup, and a Tesla.
The M.G. rolled onto it's top in the median. Danielson was killed in the accident.
The other two vehicles, driven by 21 year old Christian Orness and 66 year old Steven Jebsen of Delmar, Iowa, also came to rest in the median.
A passenger in the M.G., 82 year old Rose Hitz of Lincoln, Nebraska, was injured, and taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. They were assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff, Iowa DOT, and fire departments from Oxford, Coralville and Tiffin.
