UPDATE: We served our sentence, and Facebook has generously allowed us to mingle with society again. We'll see how long we can behave ourselves.

ORIGINAL: Well, it finally happened. We're in Facebook Jail, and it's for the dumbest reason ever, and not what we expected to be.

It wasn't for our usual, riskier articles like "Things People Got Stuck in Their Butt Last Year," or our occaisonal post of a video of a Walmart fight.

No, it was a Florida Man story. A Florida Man story about a guy who sold over 28,000 bottles of a bleach mixture he claimed was the cure for COVID.

We were told that it was because we violated Community Standards. Assumedly, it's because we used the words "COVID" and "Cure" in the same sentence. Even though it's a story about a guy committing a crime under false pretenses (and probably killing a few), the bots that search the platform for fake info picked up on our keywords.

When we came into the station this morning, I fired up Facebook and was immediately greeted with a message that both made me chuckle, but also feel a little sick.

They didn't just ban our Facebook fan page, Dwyer & Michaels, but they banned our parent account, Dwyer N Michaels, which we use to manage our fan page as well as the 97X Facebook page. We're totally locked out.

How are we supposed to share the funny with people if we can't reach them?

The ban lasts 24 hours, and we have put in for an appeal, but who knows when they'll see that? There are still ways to keep up with us.

Obviously, listening to the radio is a great way to keep up with us, but you should also download the station app.

All of our online content ends up on that bad boy, so if you're missing us, you can jump on and see what we were talking about on the show this morning.

Hopefully we get out soon, because we're stuck talking just to each other, and it's driving us nuts.
