Dubuque Couple Hurt In I-380 Accident Near Waterloo
A Dubuque couple were injured in a single-vehicle, rollover accident on Interstate 380 in Black Hawk County over the weekend.
Sheriff's officials said 66-year-old Dave Cushman suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash. His wife, 66-year-old Elizabeth Cushman, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told authorities they saw a BMW serve into the median to avoid hitting a merging sport utility vehicle that cut in front it. The BMW, driven by Elizabeth Cushman, rolled and came to rest on its top. According to authorities, the SUV's driver did not stop to render aid.
The accident happened Saturday morning at mile marker 66 near the Raymond exit, east of Evansdale.
Sheriff's officials were assisted by Evansdale police.
