Drug Investigation In Oelwein Nets 2 Arrests, More Pending
Oelwein police have arrested two people and issued a warrant for a third, in connection with a multi-month drug investigation.
As a result of the investigation, authorities have arrested Kathleen Ott, 54, and Joshua Alitz, 40, both of Oelwein.
A warrant was also issued for the arrest of Scott McLaury, 48, of Hazleton. McLaury is being charged with delivery of more than 5 grams of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), as well as a state drug tax stamp violation.
Ott is charged with delivery of meth-less than 5 grams, delivery of meth-more than 5 grams, and possession of a controlled substance (meth) with intent to deliver.
Alitz was arrested for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (meth)-less than 5 grams, delivery of a controlled substance (meth) less than 5 grams, and delivery of a controlled substance (meth)- more than 5 grams.
According to authorites, the case remains under investigation and more charges may be filed.
Oelwein police were assisted by the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement.
