Deal Still Possible In “The Bachelor’s” Charges
Attorneys for a northeast Iowa celebrity, accused of leaving the scene of a deadly accident, may know by next week if a deal has been reached regarding his charges.
Chris Soules, made famous by the ABC television shows "The Bachelor" and "Dancing with the Stars", was involved in the fatal mishap in April of 2017. His pickup had rear-ended a tractor driven by Kenny Mosher near Aurora. Soules, 36, called emergency workers after the crash, and remained with Mosher until they arrived, but left before law enforcement responded. Mosher died from his injuries.
Soules is set to go to trial on Nov. 7, 2018, in Buchanan County District Court in Independence. His attorneys had asked for a change of venue because of pre-trial publicity.
During a pre-trial hearing in Independence on Tuesday, Soules' lawyers indicated that they were close to making a deal with prosecutors. A decision on the deal should be known by Monday.
