Both Jesse Sobbing and Jimmy Gustin are accustom to winning big races, but each scored a first time win on the same night. For Gustin it was his 100th career win.

SOBBING WINS FIRST DEERY RACE AT BOONE:
Jesse Sobbing is earned his fair share of marquee event wins while driving a SportMod/Bmod and then a modified, but after making the move to a late model, he had yet to score a touring series win in that class. Sobbing finally 'parked it' in victory lane after winning the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series win at Boone Speedway on May 29, 2017.

“At the end of last year, we decided we were going to race an IMCA Late Model and one of our goals was to try and win a few of these races. Now we’ve got one,” Sobbing told IMCA.com. “We’ve been right with these guys and it feels good to be able to get a win.”

Chad Holladay, ninth starting Todd Cooney, 11th starting Darrel DeFrance and Justin Kay rounded out the top five.

GUSTIN WINS 100th AT BENTON COUNTY:
Jimmy Gustin had quite the night during the 2017 Hawkeye Dirt Tour season opener Monday night (May 29). Having never won at Benton County Speedway or an Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour event, to do both on the same night while earning his 100th career IMCA modified win was an emotional visit to victory lane.

It was also his first since the passing of his grandfather Dale DeFrance last week.

“Winning tonight means a lot to me. We definitely had the right guy watching over us,” Gustin told IMCA.com after the $1,000 to win 35-lapper brought an end to the Memorial Day show. “I’m proud of the accomplishment (winning 100 career features) and joining an elite group of drivers. This is all I needed to get my confidence back. Now we’ve got to start toward 200 wins.”

Hunter Marriott, who scored a $2,000 payday the night before at Benton County, finished second. John Emerson, Kelly Shryock and Joel Rust rounded out the top five.
