2020 Iowa High School Volleyball Rankings

Wapsie Valley is the new No. 1 Class A team in this week's Iowa high school volleyball rankings.

The Warriors moved up to the top spot following a week in which several of the top teams lost at least one match. Due to a shake-up in the poll, Janesville jumped into the No. 2 spot and Gladbrook-Reinbeck climbed up to No. 5. BCLUW held its position at No. 14.

In all, 16 teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa are featured in the latest survey. The North Iowa Cedar League is well represented. The conference has 11 of its 15 teams ranked.

Nearly half of the rated teams in Class 2A are NICL members. Dike-New Hartford is ranked third, followed by Denver at No. 8, Sumner-Fredericksburg at No. 9, Hudson at No. 10, Jesup at No. 11, South Hardin at No. 12, and Aplington-Parkersburg at No. 14.

Also from the North Iowa Cedar League, La Porte City Union is ranked No. 5 in Class 3A. Independence sits four spots behind the Knights at No. 9.

In Class 4A, only two spots separate Waverly-Shell Rock (No. 6) and West Delaware (No. 8) The Class 5 A ranking include Cedar Falls at No 4.

The new survey was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) late Thursday afternoon.
