2020 Iowa High School Volleyball Rankings

The latest high school volleyball rankings feature 15 teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa.

The majority of the area's rated squads compete in the perennially-strong North Iowa Cedar League, which has nine of 15 teams ranked. Wapsie Valley (Class 1A) and Dike-New Hartford (Class 2A) are both No. 2 in their respective classes. Conference rivals Gladbrook-Reinbeck (No. 6) and BCLUW (No. 14) are ranked behind the Warriors in the Class 1A poll, and Denver (No. 8), Sumner-Fredericksburg (No. 9), Jesup (No. 10) and Hudson (No. 13) are spotted behind the Wolverines in the 2A survey.

The NICL's other rated team is La Porte Union. The Knights are ranked at No. 5 in Class 3A, five spots in front of Independence.

Only two spots separate Waverly-Shell Rock (No. 6) and West Delaware (No. 8) in the Class 4A survey. Waverly-Shell Rock jumped three positions after being ranked at No. 9 last week.

Cedar Falls also moved three spots in the latest poll, but in the opposite direction. The Tigers fell from No. 1 after suffering their first two losses of the season, both at the Osage Tournament on Saturday. The 2-0 defeats were against No. 2-ranked teams, Dike-New Harford (Class 2A) and the host Green Devils (Class 3A).

Also ranked in the Class-1A poll this week are Janesville at No. 4 and Edgewood-Colesburg at No. 13.

The new survey was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) late Thursday afternoon.
