2019-20 Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Here is this week's Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) basketball poll.

The 11th poll of the season is the final rankings for teams in Class 1A, 2A and 3A, which begin post-season play this weekend with regional games at various locations across the state. The survey features 10 teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa.

Dike-New Hartford (19-1) starts its journey toward the state tournament as the favorite to win the Class 3A championship. The Wolverines, who won the North Iowa Cedar League West Division crown, are ranked No. 1 for a fifth-straight week. Crestwood (17-4) dropped three spots in the final poll, falling from No. 5 to No. 8.

In Class 5A, Cedar Falls (16-4) climbed three spots, going from No. 7 to No. 5. Behind the Tigers is Waterloo West (16-4), which moved up one spot to No. 7.

There was no movement for the two area teams ranked in Class 4A. Waverly-Shell Rock (17-2) is rated sixth for the second week in row, while Center Point-Urbana (19-1) remained at No. 4.

A trio of area teams are ranked at the bottom of the Class 1A poll. Central Community (18-3) moved up two spots from No. 15 last week to No. 13 this week. Joining the Warriors are newcomers AGWSR (16-5) and Clarksville (18-3), ranked 14th and 15th respectively.

The other rated team featured in this week's rankings is MFL-Mar-Mac (18-2). The Bulldogs are once again ranked at No. 4 in Class 2A.

The latest poll was released by the IGHSAU Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 12, 2020).
