2018-19 Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Here is this week's Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) basketball poll.

The ninth rankings of the season feature a dozen teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa. Despite the weather postponing several scheduled games across Iowa during the past week, there was quite a bit of movement in the latest poll.

One spot that has remained unchanged all season is Grundy Center's No. 1 position. The Spartans (16-0) lead the Class 2A rankings for the ninth-straight week. Ranked behind them are neighboring rivals Dike-New Hartford (12-2) and Aplington-Parkersburg (16-1), who are also members of the North Iowa Cedar League.

Another NICL team is featured in the Class 1A survey. AGWSR (10-6), a division-rival of Grundy Center, is ranked 14th. Iowa Star Conference competitors Clarksville (14-2) and Janesville (12-3) are also listed among the Top 15, at No. 6 and No. 10, respectively.

Other area teams ranked in the poll are Center Point-Urbana, Crestwood, Iowa Falls-Alden, Waukon (Class 3A), Waverly-Shell Rock (Class 4A) and Cedar Falls (Class 5A).

The latest poll was released by the IGHSAU Thursday afternoon (Jan. 31, 2019).
