2016 Area High School Football Previews
The 2016 Iowa High School Football season promises to be another exciting year for Northeast Iowa schools. The first set of games for area teams are slated for August 19-26.
In 2015, NE Iowa saw two schools make it to the championship game. The Rebels of Gladbrook-Reinbeck won the Class A state championship beating Akron-Westfield, 52-20. It was their first title in school history. The Don Bosco Dons made it to the 8-Player championship game, but lost a heart-breaker to Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, 57-52.
The dream of a state title is fresh in the minds of several student-athletes and coaches. We took a look at a few of the area programs as they kick-off their 2016 season.
