I was scrolling through Tik Tik when I came across an interesting video series. The creator named Owen Maupin put together a list of some of the strangest sites in the entire country.

He affectionately dubbed it the "goofiest place in every state."

And these things sure are goofy...

A few of the most notable places were in the Midwest. Illinois has the World's Largest Laundromat, whilst Indiana is known for having the largest toilet in the world, and Kansas has the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

Are you seeing some patterns here?

Well, the Hawkeye State's silliest place is a bit different than those previously mentioned.

Iowa's was the Volkswagen Beatle Spider.

Located in Avoca, this piece of art is a must-visit for anyone traveling through the Midwest for a road trip. This piece of art was created by Travis and Angela Campbell, who took the Volkswagen Beetle and removed the tires, painted the vehicle black, and then welded eight legs onto the body of the car.

And to top it all off...

It's hoisted about ten feet into the air!

This is actually located right across the street from their dad's house, who owns a welding and repair business. So, it looks like the handiness runs in the family then!

In 2020, the spider got a few more new friends!

The Campbells added a dragon and a dinosaur to this little crafty spot, and each of those two little creatures also has their dad's company logo on it. Their father's name is Darwin and he owns Campbell Welding and Repairs.
