Iowa State Patrol: Child Struck, Killed by Police Patrol Vehicle
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating an officer-involved incident that resulted in the death of a child in Red Oak, Iowa. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred at 7 p.m. last night, Monday, January 11.
Police were responding to an apartment fire
At the time of the incident, KCCI says police were responding to an apartment fire. KMA Land reports three officers were en route to the fire when one struck the child, who has not been identified. The child suffered fatal injuries. Local police immediately handed the case over to the Iowa State Patrol.

One person is dead in Waterloo's first homicide of 2022
One person was killed on Saturday night in Waterloo, after the second shooting in under three months at an area convenience store. Waterloo Police have ID'd the deceased as 18-year old Courtney Lamont Harris. KWWL reports he was confirmed to have been shot numerous times.
The victim was shot multiple times and died on the scene at the Prime Mart on Broadway in Waterloo, according to a KWWL report. The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m Saturday night. This is the first homicide of 2022, and as of yet police have not released the name of the victim, nor made any arrests in the case. This is the second recent shooting at the Prime Part on Broadway. Back in late November.
