One driver is being charged with causing a 3 vehicle accident in Fayette County.

The sheriff received a 911 call shortly after noon Wednesday (April 5), reporting a three-vehicle accident on Highway 150, about 2 miles south of West Union.

A vehicle driven by 21 year old Garrett Johnston of Linden, ran into the back of a car driven by 20 year old Teresa Hageman of Hawkeye, which slowed for a car that was in the process of making a left turn.

Hageman's car was then pushed into a car driven by Pamela Lueder of West Union, that had paused to make the turn.

No one was hurt, but according to the Fayette County Sheriff, 2 of the vehicles were not driveable. Johnston was charged with Following Too Close.

Another accident involving someone driving too close to another, happened Thursday morning (April 6) at about 8am, a mile east of Sumner on Highway 93.

A pickup driven by 26 year old Tanner Stewart of Oelwein was in the process of turning right into a driveway, when he was rear-ended by a truck driven by 18 year old Bodie Garnier of Sumner.

No injuries were reported, and damages were estimated at $3,000 for each vehicle. Garnier was cited for Following Too Close.
