A woman who allegedly had controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in her possession Tuesday when authorities took her to the Fayette County Jail on other criminal charges, was arrested earlier in the week.

According to sheriff's officials, 30-year-old Ashley Kirby of Cedar Falls was taken into custody Sunday after they received a report that someone was violating a no contact order in the city of Hawkeye. Kirby was charged with aiding and abetting the no contact order and inference with official acts.

Sheriff's officials said Kirby was attempting to leave a home when deputies arrived, but she returned to the house and locked herself inside.

Authorities said 32-year-old Colter Kirby arrived at the home while deputies were there. He was arrested for violating a no contact order and two other warrants.

The Kirby's were both taken to the Fayette County Jail to await their court appearance.
