Cedar Falls Man Injured in Truck Accident

Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on Friday (1/22/16) with injuries.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Deputies observed a 2016 Freightliner Truck lying on its side in the west ditch.

Driver of the vehicle, Jack Brandt, 43, of Cedar Falls received non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to local hospital by LaPorte City Ambulance. His condition has not been released.

Mr. Brandt had just turned onto Lange Road from Brandon Road. Mr. Brandt advised Deputies that an unidentified red truck, was traveling north bound on Lange Road was in the middle of the roadway as he was completing his turn. He swerved to miss the truck which took him into the ditch, rolling the truck onto the passenger side.

The truck is owned by ECI Coop, Hudson, Iowa. The truck was equipped with a 3,500 gallon tank of propane. It is not known how much propane was on board at the time of the accident.

Deputies were assisted on scene by LaPorte City Police and Fire and Rasmussen Towing.
