Cedar Falls Man Hurt In Highway Crash

An elderly Cedar Falls man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Black Hawk County late Thursday afternoon.

Ronald Scoles, 88, was transported to a Waterloo hospital for treatment following the crash. Authorities did not disclose the extent of his injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol said Scoles was hurt when his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle, driven by Mark Moore, 36, of Waverly. The crash happened around 5:45 PM on U.S. Highway 218/Iowa Highway 27 near Gresham Road, just south of Janesville.

State troopers cited Scoles for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
