With the Field of Dreams MLB game just a few short days away, many of the film's stars are expected to be flocking to Dyersville. Kevin Costner is just one of the names flying around for this momentous baseball game. However, the man behind inarguably the most emotional scene in the entire film has already been spotted right here in our own backyard.

Dwier Brown, who played Ray Kinsella's father, John, has been making a few stops around Northeastern Iowa before the big MLB game between the White Sox and New York Yankees this Thursday.

Yes, the actor who is responsible for one of the only movies in cinematic that can make a grown man cry will be going to the game. Brown, who is also a well-known speaker has been making the rounds promoting the game and this new cereal.

It's a limited edition Field of Dreams box of corn flakes to commemorate the upcoming game. A portion of each cereal box sold will go to a nonprofit organization. He partnered with Hy-Vee and PLB to get this cereal into stores.

The actor has been back on the road this month after a quiet year due to COVID-19. Brown just started going out to public engagements. He just stopped in Wilkes Barre/Scranton to play with the area's local minor league baseball team, the Iron Pigs.

Earlier this week, it seemed like Brown finally got to heaven...I mean Iowa. On the actor's website, he is scheduled to be a part of all of the festivities in Dyersville this week. Late Monday evening, Brown posted that he was going to be at the Hy-Vee in Dubuque signing cereal boxes.

From the looks of things on social media, the line to meet this actor was pretty line. Fans and locals gathered around to get a glimpse of the movie dad.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, the actor posted an Instagram story saying he'd be in the Cedar Falls Hy-Vee on University Avenue from 12-1pm. After talking to a few of the supermarket workers, the actor is supposed to visit approximately 5 Hy-Vee stores before he leaves the Hawkeye State.

The actor had this sort of setup in the supermarket and fans could line up to get a box of the cornflakes signed by him. Multiple fans brought their own personal pieces of memorabilia from the movie to get signed by Brown. He'd talk to each fan for a few moments, give an autograph, and then stand up for a photo.

He's been to two HyVee's in the region so far, so we'll see if this account of him going to five by the time he leaves Iowa is accurate. Brown and his son from the movie, Kevin Costner are both expected to be in attendance at the Field of Dreams MLB game this week.

Hilarious Iowa DOT Signs

Anyone else share a sense of humor with a state's Department of Transportation? Just me? Well, every Monday the Iowa Department of Transportation puts up a sometimes hilarious, sometimes straightforward message on their road signs across the state. This is called "message Monday" and Iowa DOT tries to entertain and educate drivers through these signs. Here are just a few of our favorites.
