Waverly Bicyclist Seriously Injured

A bicycle rider in Waverly sustained some serious injuries in an accident Tuesday night (June 5, 2018).

Police officers were called to the Waverly Rail, near 39th Street, just before 8:30 PM. A woman, who was not identified, was riding a bicycle when she apparently ran into the back tire of another bicycle.

Authorities said the woman was wearing a bike helmet, but still sustained severe injuries. She was air-lifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A condition report was not available.
