Arrest in High Speed Chase in Benton County

An Eastern Iowa man has been arrested following a high speed chase in Benton County.

The incident began when authorities attempted to pull over a car for a routine traffic stop in Vinton on Monday (March 14, 2016).

The driver, identified as Quentin McNeal, 24, of Garrison, refused to stop, and led authorities on a pursuit west of Vinton. Benton County deputies chased McNeal toward Garrison, then back to Vinton, using U.S. Highway 218 and county gravel roads.

McNeal was finally stopped in Vinton and arrested. He is being charged with two counts of eluding, speeding, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, no license, and a probation violation.
