A Fayette County man has been sentenced to prison, for possession stolen firearms.

Joshua Sargent, 34, of Fayette, is accused of breaking into homes in La Crosse County, in southwest Wisconsin, and stealing several firearms. He then allegedly sold the weapons to people who did not know the firearms had been stolen.

Those weapons were seized by authorities.

Sargent has previous convictions for theft, going armed with intent, violating a protective order, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Last week, he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm as a felon in federal court.

A judge then sentenced Sargent to two years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
