A Former NewBo Eatery Has Found a New Home in Jones County
The chef behind a delicious eatery at NewBo City Market is serving up dishes in a new spot! Torch Kitchen Co. has been reinvented for a new cafe in Anamosa!
Back in March, Torch Kitchen announced on Facebook that they would be moving out of NewBo City Market at the end of the month. At the time, they didn't reveal what their exact plans were, just that they were working on their "next big project."
Cut to August 17th. For the first time since their closing, Torch Kitchen updated their Facebook page with some exciting news... the eatery has found a new home in Anamosa under a different name! Chef Kyle Kilburg is serving up some quick lunch options at a bistro-style cafe at Thou Art Gallery on Main Street. It's called Thou Art Gallery's Terrace Café, and the menu features a variety of options. According to the post:
"The menu includes: cold cut sandwiches, toastie sandwiches, signature mac n cheeses, fresh salads, homemade snacks, charcuterie boards, our smoked chop, parfaits, cheesecakes, and seasonal specials (like yummy soup in fall or seafood salad right meow). We also have quick BYOBag-lunches out of my new Vincent van Grab-n-go cooler!"
So far, reviews for the cafe have been very positive! A Facebook comment from Tammy Petty reads:
Thou Art Gallery’s Terrace Café is now open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can dine-in, or place an order online for pick-up HERE.
Although Torch Kitchen isn't currently operating under its original name right now, there are still plans to bring the eatery back as a food truck! The post reads:
"...bison & cheese sliders may not be near, but once I get wheels I promise to stuff your bellies with hodgepodge fries... until then, you have to try my delicious bistro style eats and personally created meals without the same name… just MY name for now (don’t fret, you can still cater all the sliders). This means I will not be doing business as Torch for the time being but will instead be cooking at the gallery as well as doing private chef catering events."
