A Corridor Winery is Opening a Tasting Bar in Jones County
A Marion Winery is set to open a brand new facility over in Anamosa! Lubben Vineyards & Wines has broken ground on a new event space and wine tasting bar that is set to open in 2024!
Lubben Vineyards & Wines is owned by Dan and Judy Lubben, who say they never really planned to start making or selling wine. The website reads:
"This all started when our youngest son started brewing beer. He talked us into tying a wine kit, then Judy talked him into taking a class at Kirkwood....and here we are."
Since earing their certificate in Winemaking & Vineyard Management at Kirkwood Community College, the Lubbens now manage two vineyards: one in Mount Vernon and one outside of Anamosa.
Lubben Vineyards & Wines sells a variety of different types of wine, including both white and red options. Their site says that most of their wines are dry, but they also have a few semi-sweet and sweet fruit wines, too.
The new tasting room from Lubben Vineyards & Wines will be located at 13504 Hwy 151 in Anamosa. According to an article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, "the future home of Lubben Wines will include a 6,000-square-foot event center, a wine tasting bar and production facility." They are hoping to host their grand opening the weekend of Memorial Day.
If you're interested in tasting some of Lubben Vineyards & Wines' offerings before they open their new tasting room, they sell their wines at various businesses and farmers markets in the area. That includes Local Craft Cellar, Marion Chocolate Shop, Thou Art Gallery, New Pioneer Food Co-op, Great Pastimes, and more. You can also purchase wine on their website. They currently have a 5-star rating on their Facebook page, which is where you can check out the latest updates on the new facility.
