Singlespeed is one of the best locations to try local beers and sit down for a meal with the family or friends in the Cedar Valley.

I've eaten and had drinks there with friends from church, my best friend and his family, and my friends who have a little more of a raunchy sense of humor. Along with the wide variety of options when it comes to beer and food, you have options in choosing from your different social circles.

Now, as shared by the Des Moines Register, the local brewery and restaurant "is embarking on an adaptive re-use of a former tire shop at 303 Scott Ave., part of Des Moines' Market District neighborhood on the east bank of the Des Moines River. It's expected to open in spring 2023."

The Waterloo-based brewing company plans to focus on its bike-themed style in the opening of the new location, as it will be positioned on the John Pat Dorrian Trail.

This is what owner Dave Morgan said:

We plan to really lean into the outdoor aspect and connect with the Des Moines trail network and the river that is right behind us. We're going to lean heavy into the exterior design of this to make sure we can have a ton of fun outside of the walls of the building, as well.

The latest site will add a large patio on the outside for customers to dine and sip on drinks in the Iowa outdoors as well.

He added that the location "will offer a full food menu, similar to what's offered at its Waterloo location, and a five-barrel brewery system for Des Moines-specific beers. It plans to produce one new beer a week, plus offer some SingleSpeed favorites," per the Register.

KCCI adds that the renovation will cost approximately $5.4 million, and assuming the Des Moines City Council approves, construction will begin this summer.

The building SingleSpeed will now take over in the Des Moines area was most recently occupied by Earl's Tire and Service Center.
