This week's Associated Press high school football rankings feature 15 teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa, the most in any poll released this season.

Waukon is the highest rated squad from the region. The Indians (5-1) held on to the No. 3 spot in Class 2A for the second-straight week, one of six area teams that are ranked among the top five in their respective classes.

Waverly-Shell Rock moved up one spot from No. 5 to No. 4 in Class 4A. The Go-Hawks (5-1) celebrated Homecoming with a 42-0 victory over Marion Friday night. They share their No. 4 ranking with Norwalk.

Also ranked at No. 4 is North Tama in Class A. Like Waverly-Shell Rock, the Redhawks (6-0) kept the spot they received in last week's poll by shutting out its opponent. North Tama stayed unbeaten with a 36-0 win at BCLUW.

West Delaware (Class 3A), Dike-New Hartford (Class 1A) and North Butler (Class A) are each ranked at No. 5 in three separate classes. West Delaware (5-1) and Dike-New Hartford (6-0) kept the position they had in the poll a week ago, while North Butler (Class A) moved up two spots from No. 7.

Other rated teams from the region are: Cedar Falls (No. 10 in Class 5A), Independence (No. 6 in Class 3A), North Fayette Valley (No. 9 in Class 2A), Denver (No. 7 in Class 1A), Grundy Center (No. 6 in Class A), East Buchanan (No. 10 in Class A), Turkey Valley (No. 9 in 8-player) and Kee High (No. 10 in 8-player). East Buchanan (5-1) and Kee (6-0) are both featured in the poll for the first time this season.
