2018-19 Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Here is this week's Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) basketball poll.

The fifth rankings of the season feature 13 teams from the Cedar Valley and northeast Iowa.

Grundy Center (8-0) is the highest-rated area team once again, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A for the fifth-straight week. Ranked behind the Spartans are two other North Iowa Cedar League teams: Aplington-Parkersburg at No. 10 and Dike-New Hartford at No. 11.

In Class 5A, Waterloo West (5-2) made its debut at No. 14. Cedar Falls (8-0) jumped up two spots to No. 3.

Other area squads in the survey are AGWSR, Clarksville, Janesville, Kee (Class 1A), Center Point-Urbana, defending state champion Crestwood, Iowa Falls-Alden, Waukon (Class 3A), and Waverly-Shell Rock (Class 4A).

The latest poll was released by the IGHSAU Thursday afternoon (Dec. 20, 2018). All 75 squads featured in the survey will begin 2019 with this week's ranking.
