11/21/1991: Aerosmith Became First Band to Appear on ‘The Simpsons’

28 years ago tonight,  Aerosmith became the first of many bands to appear on the Simpsons. They were featured on Season 3 in the 45^th overall episode.

The plot was centered around Moe's Tavern. Homer tells Moe of a secret drink made with cough syrup and fire that he calls the "Flaming Homer". Moe uses the recipe at his bar and Aerosmith shows up. Moe tries to get them to play, but they are reluctant until he offers the band free pickled eggs.

Aerosmith came back to Moe’s the following night, but had to perform without Joey Kramer, who was in his trailer trying to stave off advances from Mrs. Krabappel, who had taken his drumsticks.
