How long have you been with the company you're at right now? 5? 10? Maaaaybe 15? Or are you one of those people who changes jobs and companies like I change underwear - only when things get crappy?

A guy by the name of Walter Orthmann in Brazil has been working at the same company for 84 years and 9 months, which was verified on January 6th, 2022.

Well, that just so happens to be enough for a Guinness World Record.

On January 17th, 1938, Walter Orthmann started work as a shipping assistant for a textile company in Santa Catarina, Brazil, called Industrias Renaux S.A. It's now known as ReneauxView.

Walter has always been very open to learning new things, and to be in the workforce for 84 years, let alone at the same job for 84 years, you're going to go through some changes.

This guy has been around since before the United States got involved in World War 2. Think about the technological advancements that you've seen in your lifetime. This guy's been in business for about double most of our lives.

Walter started as a shipping assistant, but within a few years, worked his way up the company ladder to Sales Manager, where he's been since.

On April 19th, Walter Orthmann turned 100 years old. He celebrated the milestone with his coworkers, friends, and family.

When it comes to what's next, Walter had an easy answer.

"I don’t do much planning, nor care much about tomorrow. All I care about is that tomorrow will be another day in which I will wake up, get up, exercise and go to work; you need to get busy with the present, not the past or the future. Here and now is what counts. So, let’s go to work!!"

Walter previously set the record that he just broke in 2019, with 81 years and 85 days.
