Waterloo Man Charged In Bremer County Accident

A Waterloo man is accused of causing a two-vehicle accident in Bremer County late Tuesday night (Jan. 31, 2017).

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Iowa Highway 3 and Quarter Avenue, near Readlyn.

Sheriff's officials said Caitlin Mcelhose, 16, of Readlyn, was in the process of making a left turn, when a car behind her attempted to pass. The two vehicles collided. Both were totaled.

No one was injured. The other driver, Jay Tyler, 25, of Waterloo, was charged with Unsafe Passing.
