TODAY: Waterloo Local Grocery Store Opens For Business
A highly anticipated Waterloo business will finally be opening its doors today!
For the past few years, developers have been working to bring a brand new, locally owned grocery store to the Walnut neighborhood in Waterloo.
It's called All-In-Grocers, and promises to, "...provide a wide variety of products to suit anyone's taste. We are focused on the community surrounding the business and involving them in any way possible."
The grocery store officials are hoping to make their mark on the community as well. They will be opening up a restaurant in the near future that will be attached to the grocery store called Grandma's Hands.
And the grocery store will also be the home of a meeting room dedicated to a local legend. It's called the Willie Mae Wright Room. It is dedicated to the civil rights leader, former Waterloo city councilwoman, and trailblazer Willie Mae Wright.
She was only the second black person to serve on the council, according to reports.
The grand opening date for the grocery store has been announced. Located at 221 Franklin Street in Waterloo, All-In-Grocers will be celebrating their first day in business on Tuesday, October 3rd.
The grand opening event will kick off when the doors open at noon! There will be free, reusable commemorative shopping bags at the new grocery store, and the first 100 customers will receive a gift card as well.
All-In-Grocers officials promise, "food, photos, and family fun for all!"
