Two Hospitalized After Car, Motorcycle Collide

Two people were taken to the hospital after their motorcycle collided with a car in Fayette County on Wednesday.

Fayette County sheriff's officials received a report of the accident, just before 6 PM. The crash happened near the intersection of Echo Road and Iowa Highway 56, just outside of Wadena.

Authorities said a westbound car, driven by 19-year-old Daniel Wander of Clermont, turned left in front of an oncoming motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Cameron McDowell of Wadena. The vehicles collided, injuring McDowell and his 22-year-old passenger, Kaitlin Dinan of Elgin. McDowell and Dinan were taken to the West Union hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not released.

Sheriff's officials charged Wander with failure to yield when making a left turn.
