Two Arrested In Waterloo Home Robbery
Two people have been arrested on charges connected to an overnight home robbery in Waterloo.
The incident happened Thursday, shortly after 12:30 AM. According to police, a 9-1-1 caller tipped off authorities that the victims and two suspects armed with handguns were inside a house at 1760 Newell St. Officers were then dispatched to the home to investigate.
Police said officers saw mask-wearing suspects inside the residence when they arrived. Officials indicated the two males were involved in a brief standoff with authorities, but surrendered after police secured the area around the home and communicated with the pair.
Who Were The Suspects And What Charges Were Filed Against Them?
Officials identified the suspects as 18-year-old Patrick Isabell and 17-year-old Wilmaris Burt, both of Waterloo. A juvenile, Burt was charged as an adult.
Records show Isabell and Burt were taken into custody on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and going armed with intent.
According to police, authorities recovered several items from the home. The items included a handgun, masks and gloves.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
The house on Newell Street where the incident occurred is at the intersection with City View Street.
