
Truck Driver Injured Near Evansdale, Dies of Injuries
The driver of a dump truck that crashed into a wall near Evansdale last week, has now died of his injuries.
Christopher Timmer, 46, of Waterloo, was driving a gravel truck southbound on Interstate 380, when the vehicle crossed the median into oncoming traffic. After crashing into a pickup, the dump truck entered a ditch, hit a guard rail, then went through a concrete barrier, where it caught fire.
Passersby pulled Timmer out of the truck. He was taken to a Waterloo hospital, where he died on Friday.
The pickup driver, Richard Burke, 49, of Lockridge, was taken to a Waterloo hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The crash happened near the McCoy Road overpass on Wednesday (Aug. 29, 2018).
