It's a fun time of the year to break out the plastic tote of DVD'S and watch our Top 10 Favorite Christmas Movies, and turn up your Favorite Christmas Songs but things can really get fun with this list of crazy, weird, wacky, zany and downright strange songs for the Holiday season! Because it's just not Christmas time until you've heard one (or all) of these comedy gems!

Let's count down the Top 10 Funny Christmas songs from 10 to 1:

10. Won't Be Home For Christmas - Blink-182
This one makes the list once again this year, just for the comedy genius of saying what we're all thinking, lol. - "It's Christmas time again, It's time to be nice to the people who you can't stand, all year"...

9. Leroy The Redneck Reindeer - Joe Diffie
Back in the top 10 for a 2nd consecutive year. A spin-off of "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer".  As the lyrics go, "Rudolph was under the weather and had to call in sick, so he got on the horn to his cousin Leroy who lived out in the sticks"... Sadly, Diffie passed away in March 2020 due to coronavirus-related complications. So it feels right to honor him here.

8. All I Want For Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth) - Spike Jones
We're going a little "old school" here back to 1944. It was a different era of satire, and Jones was considered a comedy genius "back in the day"..."It seems so long since I could say sister, Suzy sitting on a thistle...every time I try to speak, all I do is whistle"...

7. Dominic the Donkey - Lou Monte
From 1960, Lou Monte gets wacky with this song. "hee haw hee haw"...."la la la"...it's soooo "bad", that's what makes it great!

6. The Christmas Hippo Song - Gayla Peevey
This is both of my daughter's all-time favorite goofy Christmas song! I've heard a couple of artists try to do this song in a serious tone and once you've heard the original, they come off as super lame. Nobody can beat Peevey's strange singing voice.

5. The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) - The Chipmunks
As a DJ, I can appreciate his creativity, as David Seville did all the voices himself, and edited it all together on reel-to-reel tape in a production studio. An all-time classic -  Aalvin...Alvinnnnn!!!"

4. The 12 Pains of Christmas - Bob Rivers
"Fine!, you're so smart, you rig up the lights!", Plus, I like the guy who sounds like Archie Bunker, from the old-school TV show, "All in the Family".

3. Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy
"You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and grandpa, we believe! Tip: Don't let your grandma drink too much eggnog!

2. You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Original Version
This song is performed by Thurl Ravenscroft, what a voice! You could say he's "greaattt"! Because he was also the voice of "Tony the Tiger"!  And, of course, the genius lyrics of Dr. Seuss, "You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch!"...

1. 12 Days of Christmas - Bob & Doug McKenzie
Beauty, eh? Love it! "And a beer in a tree".  My personal favorite, this song still makes me laugh every time I hear it. Trivia: this was recorded in ONE "take". How did they forget donuts? It's their favorite thing, besides beer, of course. They must have run out of ideas, if you listen closely, they just skip from 9 to 12 days, lol.  Next year, I'm getting me a chainsaw.

Honorable Mention:  The Chanukah Song - Adam Sandler
Well, it is 2021, so we need to be all-inclusive, so here's Adam Sandler with his run-down of famous Jewish people and traditions, made “for all those nice little Jewish kids who don’t get to hear any Chanukah songs"...
