April 20th is a holiday of sorts for cannabis enthusiasts and potheads around the world.

Known as “Weed Day,” the origins behind "420", as it is known, are hazy to say the least. Why "420"? According to legend, a group of friends at San Rafael High School in Marin County, California, who called themselves "the Waldos," would often meet at 4:20 p.m. to get high.

The majority of U.S. states have now got some kind of law in place that legalizes cannabis in some form, for medicinal use to relieve pain. Some people try it because of curiosity and some fall to peer pressure. Believe it or not, some smokers just imbibe for the fun of getting high. And some do it to relieve stress...to quote probably the biggest pot enthusiasts of all time, Cheech & Chong..."cause when I'm high the world below don't bother me".

Classic rock music and smoking weed go hand in hand - here's some of our favorite songs to celebrate "Weed Day"....(of course anything by the "DOOBIE Brothers" would be good as well)

Bob Dylan - Rainy Day Women #12 & 35
(which, multiply those numbers and they equal 420 - coincidence? I think not...."everybody let's get stoned"!!!

Tom Petty - You Don't Know How It Feels so let's get to the point...let's roll another joint...

Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf
- the day is not complete without this rocker...

Dash Rip Rock - "Let's Go Smoke Some Pot"
- here's a fun song from one of my favorite bands of all time! And to clarify, they're not necessarily encouraging people to smoke pot, the song is about all the "hippie" bands in the 90's who liked to partake in the wacky weed, ie: Spin Doctors, Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, Drivin N Cryin, etc...

and finally, bust out every pot smoker's all-time favorite, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon"...and enjoy your day! Peace and love...
