The people of California lived out my greatest fear when what appeared to be thousands of 10-inch penises washed ashore.

Upon further investigation, they weren't dongs but thousands of innkeeper fish. The phallus crustaceans live burrowed deep into sand. A recent storm washed away a significant amount of sand, exposing the fish.

The fish's burrow is a U-Shape, and is used often as a shelter by shrimp, crabs, and goby fish. Makes sense why it's called the innkeeper.
