Texas Man’s Home Burned Down After A Female Relative Answers Girlfriend’s Facetime Call

A Texas man and his daughter are left without a home after his now ex-girlfriend allegedly burned his house down because she thought he was cheating on her.

The Bexar County Sheriff's office said in a November 22 statement that 23-year-old Senaida Soto had burglarized and set fire to a home after a Facetime call didn't go the way she had hoped.

When Senaida Facetimed Tommy Garay, his phone wasn't answered by him, but by a female, who Senaida immediately assumed was Garay's side chick.

So, she headed over to his house when he wasn't home, lit his couch on fire (which was caught on video obtained by the sheriff's office), and stole some items on her way out. Then, she sent Garay a text that said "I hope your house is okay."

Soto was immediately arrested on felony charges on burglary and arson.

Garay was not home when the fire was set by Soto, who he said he'd only been with for a month, but now he and his two-year-old daughter are without a home.

"I called the fire department but unfortunately by the time they arrived everything I owned including my daughters toys, clothes, shoes, etc was damaged/lost in the fire, this is such a devastating time for us, as this home, was the home my dad and I grew up in, this home has been part of my family for generations," Garay said on GoFundMe.

"I never would have imagined me being a victim of such crimes, as we had only been in a relationship for a month, this is very traumatizing, especially for my daughter, asking why we can't we go home," Garay wrote.
