Authorities have released the name of a teenage boy who died in an accidental shooting near Clarksville.

The boy who was fatally wounded has been identified as Kain Schild, 15, of Clarksville. Schild was a freshman at Clarksville High School, where counselors have been helping students cope with the tragedy.

Details on how the shooting happened, were not released. The incident took place at Norton's Pond in rural Clarksville around 4:45 PM on Thursday (May 10, 2018).

A preliminary investigation determined that three juvenile males, including Schild, were at the scene when the shooting happened.

The incident is still under investigation by Butler County sheriff's officials.
