Iowans putting their best foot forward

The Cedar Valley took a direct hit from severe weather that rolled across the region Thursday. Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Fayette County all reported damage.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a small tornado touched down in Fayette County earlier this week.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is still trying to confirm if tornadoes caused any of the storm damage that occurred in Northeast Iowa on Monday.

Strong thunderstorm winds blew a Fayette County home partly off its foundation, trapping an elderly couple inside and injuring one on Monday (June 22, 2015).

There are numerous reports of storm damage this morning, across Northeast Iowa. The brunt of the storm hit at about 8am, when heavy rains and strong winds hit Oelwein and the surrounding area.

The Cedar Valley and the rest of Northeast Iowa remain under an enhanced threat of severe weather following an early round of damaging thunderstorms this morning (Monday, June 22, 2015).
