Also Thursday, an Iowa State trooper was injured in a separate northeast Iowa accident.

Criminal complaints were filed in Clayton County District Court Wednesday following an investigation that began in Dec. 2020.

An extended period without any precipitation should help the region's rivers and streams. Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast for the next several days.

Several rivers in northeast Iowa are being forced out of their banks following two days of heavy rainfall.

The virus is now present in 65 of Iowa's 99 counties. Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Marshall and Tama Counties all reported additional cases.

Both rivers are expected to overflow their banks.
