A Cedar Falls motorist could not stop in time, and collided with railroad equipment in rural Bremer County.

Bremer County sheriff's deputies were called to the accident site at a railroad crossing in the 1200 block of 240th Street, just west of Waverly.

According to authorities, a westbound Chevy sport utility vehicle, driven by Norman Sorensen, 74, collided with a Harsco track stabilizer at the railroad crossing. Sheriff's officials said Sorensen's vision was hampered by vegetation next to the railroad track, and he was not able to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Sorensen and the driver of the track stabilizer, were not injured. Officials identified the driver of the railroad equipment as Henry Ramey, 56, of Huntington, W.V.
