Suspicious Activity Spurs Arrest in Oelwein

Oelwein Police have arrested an area man on drug charges after investigating some suspicious activity.

At about 5pm Monday (April 3) Oelwein officers checked on something suspicious happening in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.

Responding officers arrested 24 year old Matthew Moore of Independence on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Authorities took 2 local men into custody on separate arrest warrants.

At about 9am Monday (April 3), Oelwein police arrested 48 year old Brett Moritz of Oelwein on a Fayette County Warrant for Failure to Serve his sentence of 6 Days in Jail.

And around 7:30pm Monday, in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue NW in Oelwein, 31 year old Jason Nuehring of Oelwein was arrested on a Fayette County Probation Violation Warrant.
