Smokers in the US Just Hit an All-Time Low
To anyone who thinks it's not possible for an entire society to make a positive change check this out.
According to the CDC, the number of Americans who smoke cigarettes just hit an ALL-TIME LOW. According to a poll from CBS news.
Around 14% of adults now smoke every day or some days. That's down from 15.5% two years ago and it's down 67% since 1965. Now we still have a way to go. Cigarette smoking is still the top preventable cause of death in the country, killing about 480,000 people a year. But the latest numbers show we're definitely moving in the right direction.
No word on if 'vaping' counts as smoking. If so, I can only imagine these numbers would be quite a bit lower. Have you been outside a bar lately?
