Between Bohemian Rhapsody, The Dirt, the upcoming Rocketman and the recently announced new Sex Pistols movie, it seems that rock biopics have become a bit of a trend as of late. This has bred anticipation for movies about a ton of older rock bands, as getting to watch the story of a band unfold on the big screen brings a sense of nostalgia to fans. If you happen to be looking forward to a Guns N' Roses movie, don't get too excited just yet. Slash says a documentary about the band is more likely than a biopic.

"I thought the Motley movie was great," the guitarist told Futuro 88.9 FM in a recent interview. "It really took me back to the early days in the '80s and all the way through their career, because I just remember everything that happened along the way. And then it gave me some insights as to internal details that I wasn't really aware of. But I thought that came out great."

As for a Guns N' Roses movie, he says he wouldn't want to do one surrounding the band's story the way The Dirt did about Motley Crue. "I wouldn't wanna do a Guns movie like that. I couldn't imagine trying to find somebody to play the different members of the band," said Slash. "It just doesn't even seem possible."

According to the guitarist, there is a lot of on-the-road and backstage footage from Guns N' Roses' tours between 1991 and 1994 that have been sitting in a vault ever since. "I would love for that to be edited at some point and put out. So we'll see if that ever happens," he adds. Listen to the audio from the interview here.

Slash is heading to South America with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators in May in support of their 2018 release Living the Dream. Guns N' Roses have just been announced as one of the headliners for this year's Louder Than Life festival at the end of September. In addition, they plan to start working on the new album later in the fall.
