A resurfacing project in rural Black Hawk County will impact traffic north of Waterloo for the next two months.

Starting Monday, a five-mile stretch of Dunkerton Road (County Road C-66) is closed for paving. The segment under construction is between U.S. Highway 63 and N. Elk Run Road (County Road V-43).

The project is expected to be complete by the end of June, weather permitting.

According to the Black Hawk County Engineer's Office, no access to Dunkerton Road will be permitted at U.S. 63 and gravel side roads will remain open to local traffic open.

During the construction project, traffic will be directed around the work area on a marked detour. The alternate route will be U.S. 63, Cedar-Wapsi Road (County Road C-57) and Raymond Road (County Road V-49).
